When Should We Give Thanks?

It seems counterintuitive to give thanks when by all appearances there’s nothing to give thanks for. Why express gratitude when the relationship is severed, the fires have not abated, or your bank account is overdrawn. Yet, thanksgiving is a form of worship. When we give thanks, we acknowledge God for who He is and what He has done. We offer our thanksgiving whether we feel like it or not. Our recent trip to Glacier National Park did not go as planned. My brother-in-law had meticulously planned this family reunion for the past year. The dates, lodging and car rentals were set in November 2017. Flights reserved in January. Camping permit okayed in March.
