Many times, when one of my children was at a camp, sports practice, music lessons, or Mother’s Day Out, I would walk by an empty bedroom and be drawn in. Not always sure of what to pray, I surveyed the room for clues. Other times, I stormed a room—furious at the enemy for interfering in my child’s life.
“Not today, Satan!” I’d yell like an unhinged momma.
I’d hurl every scripture I could think of at him, flinging my arms and raising my voice (hoping the neighbors couldn’t see or hear me).
Yes, parenting tests our mettle. It throws us into uncharted and menacing waters. Our enemy works overtime to lure our child away from God, and we are clueless.
But prayer and God’s word are the dual weapons in this battle against the enemy. Fight for your child through prayer. Saturate your child’s bedroom with scripture. Storm the heavens. Bind the enemy. Step into each child’s room and pray Bible verses to defeat Satan’s schemes. You’ll exit the room encouraged and empowered.
